Madison Avenue & Sweet Country Home Wreaths!

A couple of years ago when I really spent a lot of time perfecting my crochet I enjoyed amigurumi and other types of small projects because of the versatility in movement and flow. With knitting you have to be more exact because everything shows. I remembered and still have a couple of little pins that were made years ago by a lady in our church congregation. I liked the wreath but it looked so plain and sort of ugly. I scoured the internet for any and every pattern I could find, there was really next to nothing in the way of crocheted wreath pins. So I started brainstorming because I really wanted to make one but I wanted it to be pretty and attractive. I tried a few times and frogged them, then as they say third times a charm. The third one was completely free handed, just flowed and grew in my hand with no trial or error. I fell in love with it, the end result was not only cute but three dimensional, plush and had a 'real-life' feel to it. I was also pleased with the generous size it turned out to be. I am already working on a troop of them for next year, hopefully they will be available in bulk around the '09 holiday season. Perfect for stocking stuffers or to give as teacher gifts.

So far we only have ornaments of pins, I am hopeing to come up with more variations soon. I'd love any feedback on these, Enjoy!

Bee My Honey Hat in Honey - Small - Ready To Ship

This is one of my favorites! When I first picked up the yarn I knew I wanted it but I wasn't sure what to make with it. It's an alpaca blend that is soft and squishy with a slight halo. It also has an amazing amount of stretch and memory. This particular size is made to fit a child or youth and will stretch to fit an adult with a small head. The pattern can easily be edited to be larger or smaller so don't be afraid to ask!

I Wear My Heart On My Hat Update!

I've decided to add a few listings for the I Wear My Heart on My Hat to be made to order. For now the only size I can offer is baby/toddler size while I work out the logistics of an adult size hat. In the mean time feel free to keep checking.

Though it will probably stay a staple in the shop just because I think it's so cute. Soon there will be more colors and sizes available so please keep checking for updates. Feel free to speed up the process by making an Alchemy request!

Sweetee's Etsy Shop Returns!

We are working on a new look, new items... just a total makeover. Keep checking for updates!

UPDATE 1/22/09: It's taken me an unnecessarily long amount of time to get back to this point. I have worked on several things, all things I love for various reasons. Being a Jill of all trades it is hard for me to subscribe to the idea of designing a couple items and then offering them in every color and size. I have a deeply rooted self criticism of the things I create, perfectionism I suppose. For that reason I've continually put off posting items because not only did I want my items to be perfect I wanted the look and feel of it all to be perfect. I've had to cast this aside in favor of allowing myself to not ALWAYS be perfect. I'm still not sure why this is so hard for me but I've decided that a post that is a little less than perfect is better than none. It will take sometime to organize everything and post it as I go, but it's time.
